Trade-ins
We’re always interested in trade-ins!
While we don’t offer cash for trade-ins, we’re happy to apply the value of your item towards a new instrument.
All trade-in valuations are based on an in-store inspection by the Harper's Music team. We reserve the right to adjust or withdraw an offer if the item is not in the agreed-upon condition upon arrival.
Though guitars and amps are the most commonly traded items, we also consider effect pedals, drum kits, brass & woodwind instruments, and other music gear. Trade-ins must be in good working condition. Missing parts like strings or tremolo arms are typically acceptable, but items that are damaged or unusable are generally not considered. For hygiene reasons, we do not accept trade-ins for items such as headphones, microphones, or in-ear monitors.
If an offer is made but the item is found to differ from its original description upon arrival, we will reconsider and adjust our offer accordingly. You are free to terminate the transaction at any point, and we reserve the right to withdraw our offer.
Should you request the return of your equipment, return shipping fees, including insurance, will apply. These charges are based on standard shipping costs to your postcode, with no additional markup.
Pricing Considerations
Please note that due to factors like the item’s condition, resale demand, and available store space, we cannot accept all trade-ins. We also account for the time needed to prepare and service your item, provide a warranty, cover taxes, and ship it to the next owner. While it’s always a good idea to research the value of your item, we may not offer what you expect due to these additional considerations.
